Infused Water!

Wednesday 5 August 2015

For me, drinking 2 litres of water a day is a chore sometimes, but water is a powerful way to flush toxins from the body, and adding fruit or vegetables (and sometimes spices) can have even extra benefits! I love adding flavours that make reaching my 2 litres a day target easier.

Here are some infused water combinations for you to try that I LOVE ... and of course why they are good for you.

Refreshing Cucumber, Lemon and Cinnamon Water

1 glass of water
Slices of cucumber
1 wedge of lemon (with a squeeze of extra juice)
1 pinch of ground cinnamon

Cucumber contains vitamins A, C and Folic Acid. Great vitamins which help with skin problems and regulates blood pressure.
Lemon boosts your metabolism as well as being rich in Vitamin C.
Cinnamon is loaded with antioxidants which protect the body from oxidative damage to the skin, (think of an apple going brown when exposed to air). Cinnamon also helps fight infection.

I love this drink when I am feeling run down!

Mint and Raspberry

1 glass of water
1-2 sprigs of mint
7 raspberries

Mint helps improve skin, boosts immunity and relieves stress.
Raspberries are rich in important antioxidants, vitamins C, K and folic acid. The high fibre content helps stabilize blood sugars, and prevents constipation which improves digestion & helps maintain a healthy digestive tract!

Not only is this drink good for you, but it also is a gorgeous summer drink for a sunny day

Delicious Orange and Lemon

1 glass of water
Half a lemon, sliced
Half an orange, sliced

As above lemon is rich in Vitamin C which is great at helping fight infections, and boosts your metabolism.
The orange sweetens the bitter lemon, as well as being rich in vitamins. Vitamin C is supposed to help increase fat burning in the body

This makes a great replacement for diluting drinks, squash and juices.

Although you don't necessarily need a special infuser bottle, here is one that I have been eyeing up!
