Overnight Oats with Chia Seeds

Wednesday 26 August 2015

Ok, so I have seen this little recipe everywhere, the old Chia Seeds and Overnight Oat pudding, and there are so many different and great variations.

Ingredients:

2 tbsp Chia Seeds
2 tbsp Oats
250ml Milk (of your choice; low fat dairy, rice, almond or soy)
1/2 Banana
Handful of Raspberries

Sunflower and Pumpkin Seeds (for the topping)

This is a really great breakfast option, because it is so nutritious and filling. It is high in Omega 3 fatty acids, protein and fibre. It is a fantastic way to get some fruit into your diet, it tastes great and keeps me full 'til lunch.

Method
1. Add the oats and chia seeds to a tall glass or jar.
2. Mash the banana and the berries.
3. Add the mushed fruit to the oats and chia seeds, along with the milk.
4. Stir the mixture well.
5. Place in the fridge for a few hours (or overnight) to make a creamy and delicious breakfast.

Top with seeds like flax, sunflower and pumpkin, and some more berries!!

  1. This looks so great, definitely going to try it! :) Normally I always have yogurt and granola with some fruits, but chia seeds sound like a really good alternative.
